(TPed) Home Stretch: I Hope So
I thought I would update you all on Rolled. First things first. Rolled did not get accepted to South By South West (SXSW) film festival . No big deal, the film is still being finished. I on the other hand will be going to SXSW – and I’ll be screening it anyway. How about that!
What’s up with Rolled?
Oh, thanks for asking. Right now it’s in four very loving and capable hands. My good friend Tylor has the final cut for color correction, while my other good friend Andrew has it for the final audio pass. With their powers combined we’ll put the two together and be done done. At that point I’ll send it off to have DVD’s made. When the DVD’s are done, we’ll be ready to send them out to everyone who ordered them. At the same time we’ll be sending all other gifts (Shirts, Stickers, etc). That’ll likely still be a few months out. Sorry, it turns out that making a film is a really long process. Who knew? I’ll tell you who knows now… (if you ask me on facebook)
Film Festivals and Distribution?
Once the film is done and set to DVD i’ll be sending it out to many more film festivals. (They like it when films are done.) At the same time I’ll be looking for distribution, which I know very little about. I’m reaching out to you all in hopes that you, or someone you know, may be able to chat with me about different distribution channels.
Next Project. What!? I Know, Awesome.
While the film has been out of my hands i’ve had the opportunity to start writing a script with two friends – Matt Jones and Kevin Manwarren. It’s a mockumentary about an indie folk band. We’ve still got a long way to go, but if you’re interested in keeping up with that and other projects I’m working on, I’d encourage you to either sign up for my personal mailing list, or my personal facebook page. Additionally, if you know anyone who knows about funding films (outside of Kickstarter – don’t tell them I said that) – Let me know, I’d love to chat with them.
If you have any comments, questions, or are going to SXSW and want to meet up, drop me a line. Enjoy the sneak peak photo.
Sincerely, Whit Scott
